And Now For Another Kickstarter Promotion

6e553a314f5d7cc674f486c0e64e1c1e_original.pngIt appears my WordPress career has taken a bit of turn of late from “serious” reviewer to game flogger. Well its that time again because, after getting a tip from the awesome YouTube channel Indieformer I have been led to another game that I will tell you about, leaving it up to you whether you back the game or not because, you know, money doesn’t
grow on trees, no matter how many pennies we plant in the ground. Continue reading “And Now For Another Kickstarter Promotion”

Lion Quest – Back to the Games of Yore Go I!

Well hello there. It’s been awfully quiet hasn’t it? I bet you’re as surprised to see me here as I am. A lot seems to have gone on since I last was on here flogging Kickstarter games to my fanatic chroniclers. Lets have a little recap shall we? Brexit happened which meant I had to be sedated lest my pro-European rage engulf the entire world in a fiery vortex that none would survive; England got knocked out of Euro 2016 by Iceland giving my handlers the perfect excuse to bring me out of my induced coma so I could lord it over headerthe English, and Pokémon Go has swept the globe, aside from UK since we haven’t (officially) got it yet. Which bring us up to now where I have had the pleasure of playing a game created by fellow blogger extraordinaire (warning: The Chronic Chronicler may be exaggerating his extraordinaire- iness) Dracula’s Cave simply named Lion Quest.

Another Bout of Unsolicited Kickstarter Shout-outs

Hello again everyone and, although I said last time I wouldn’t be using this blog as a Kickstarter plugging page, I’ve seen a couple of games that I feel deserve a little promotion from yours truly and can hopefully assist in whatever small way in helping them reaching their funding goals.

Game One: In the Shadows

in-the-shadows-game-teaser.mp4First up we have In the Shadows, a puzzle platformer made by Colorspace Studio where we control a man undergoing some sort of psychotherapy where he must travel back to his childhood, using light to transform the dark shadows through a variety of puzzles so that he can recover his past memories and make sense of his life.

Sonic Generations – Gotta Go Fast to the Past

SonicGenerationsSonic puts me in mind of a weird game of Russian Roulette. I see in my mind the Sonic fandom passing round a hedgehog shaped chalice, where the next fan takes a deep drink and then falls on the floor, violently retching and vomiting rings before the next fan step over the convulsing wreck, wipes off the chill dog chunks still clinging to the goblet, then quickly taking in that special brew in the hopes of a taste of the sweeter days of yore.

Give This Game Some Love (and Money, also Money)

photo-originalHello everyone! So I know that people advertising blatantly to you is at best a mild irritant and at worst the final aneurysm that will do you away but please hear me out!

Over on Kickstarter there is a game for PC, Linux, Mac, and PS4 from Rex Crowle and Moo Yu from the newly formed company Foam Sword Games. Haven’t heard of them? Well they have worked on other awesome games like Ratchet & Clank, LittleBigPlanet, and Tearaway are making what seems to be a truly awesome hand drawn RPG game called Knights and Bikes

Remember Me – Untapped Potential

203300_frontRemember Me is an action-adventure sci-fi game from the incredible minds that brought us the universally adored Life is Strange. Yet their sophomore effort has totally eclipsed Dontnod’s ironically forgotten first foray into the world of gaming. So, as a look into Dontnod’s very brief history, I’ve decided to play through Remember Me to see whether this game actually deserves it’s titular request.

Sonic the Hedgehog – Retro Repetition

Sth_Mobile_2After playing the atrociousness that is Sonic and the Black Knight I thought that Sonic was dead to me. I had given him a chance and Sonic had used that chance shoot himself through the temple and fall with a splat right into his own coffin which was also on fire. But now, after the dust has settled and most of my memories of sheer aggravation are no longer at the forefront of my every thought, I have decided to give Sonic another chance.
