Zootopia – Furnomenal

12370858_1022009524529272_3848413103110276642_oOh God I can’t believe I used that as a headline, but in any case  Zootopia is finally out and, after hyping myself up about it from trailers, the furry fan art all over tumblr, and the interesting plot, I was pretty excited to see this film. To be honest the only thing that irked me going into this film was that it was called Zootropolis in the UK and while it’s not a bad name it just doesn’t sound as good as Zootopia. Still, with that minor irritant, I went in quite positive for Disney’s latest endevour.   Continue reading “Zootopia – Furnomenal”

Tearaway Unfolded – A Personally Crafted Experience

81BMqKqbJKL._SL1500_Sometimes come out of nowhere and burrow themselves into your brain, constantly pressing itself against your hippocampus so that you constantly think about until you finally break down in tears and rush to the nearest shop/computer and buy it to stop the incessant nagging on your cranial lobes. Tearaway Unfolded is one such game and, just to get my bias out of the way right now before people accusing me of it, yes I am reviewing Rex Crowle’s game after hyping up his Kickstarter game Knights and Bikes, but so what?!

Sonic Generations – Gotta Go Fast to the Past

SonicGenerationsSonic puts me in mind of a weird game of Russian Roulette. I see in my mind the Sonic fandom passing round a hedgehog shaped chalice, where the next fan takes a deep drink and then falls on the floor, violently retching and vomiting rings before the next fan step over the convulsing wreck, wipes off the chill dog chunks still clinging to the goblet, then quickly taking in that special brew in the hopes of a taste of the sweeter days of yore.

Give This Game Some Love (and Money, also Money)

Over on Kickstarter there is a game for PC, Linux, Mac, and PS4 from Rex Crowle and Moo Yu from the newly formed company Foam Sword Games. Haven’t heard of them? Well they have worked on other awesome games like Ratchet & Clank, LittleBigPlanet, and Tearaway are making what seems to be a truly awesome hand drawn RPG game called Knights and Bikes

Harper Lee Dies Aged 89

harper-lee_3374329bUnfortunately at some point today Harper Lee, the author of the incredible novel To Kill a Mockingbird and its first draft “sequel” Go Set a Watchmen, died. It is strange to feel so saddened over the death of someone that most of us have never met and now will never meet, but today I feel quite sad at knowing that such talented person that I will never meet, never see in the flesh, never hear her inhale and exhale, is now gone.

Deadpool – This Review is Rated Awesome (and 15)

CVKQTAoUkAAGbhsSo Fox, the film’s out. We’ve all seen the reaction. Tell us, was this all a ploy? Because if it was it damn worked wonders! Who’d have thought that making a completely sub-par, stitched up Deadpool in a superhero equivalent of Plan 9 from Outer Space, go quite on the film for years, leak test footage, see the euphoric response, and then release the film to a wild fans and watch the money roll in. Sheer genius!

5 Sentence Review – The Revenant

MV5BMjU4NDExNDM1NF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMDIyMTgxNzE@._V1_SX640_SY720_So with Leonardo DiCaprio doing pretty much anything now to get that elusive Oscar win he now joined forces with Academy Award winner powerhouse Alejandro G. Iñárritu on the back of his win with Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) to portray Hugh Glass as a man who pretty much gets everything thrown at him in the American wilderness.
