Give This Game Some Love (and Money, also Money)

photo-originalHello everyone! So I know that people advertising blatantly to you is at best a mild irritant and at worst the final aneurysm that will do you away but please hear me out!

Over on Kickstarter there is a game for PC, Linux, Mac, and PS4 from Rex Crowle and Moo Yu from the newly formed company Foam Sword Games. Haven’t heard of them? Well they have worked on other awesome games like Ratchet & Clank, LittleBigPlanet, and Tearaway are making what seems to be a truly awesome hand drawn RPG game called Knights and Bikes

Remember Me – Untapped Potential

203300_frontRemember Me is an action-adventure sci-fi game from the incredible minds that brought us the universally adored Life is Strange. Yet their sophomore effort has totally eclipsed Dontnod’s ironically forgotten first foray into the world of gaming. So, as a look into Dontnod’s very brief history, I’ve decided to play through Remember Me to see whether this game actually deserves it’s titular request.

Broken Age – Wholly Wonderful

2398078-7910445654-DoublPoint and click adventure games had been a complete mystery to me, appearing to be a thing that was eternally referenced in game journalism which consistently meant nothing to me. Cries of a time when games like Monkey Island, King’s Quest and Grim Fandango ruled the critical gaming world of the 80s and 90s, only to die an innocuous death in the new millennium, appeared to me something as if it was a forgone conclusion that the point-and-click adventure genre was fantastic medium, but one that was of its time. Sonic the Hedgehog – Retro Repetition

Sth_Mobile_2After playing the atrociousness that is Sonic and the Black Knight I thought that Sonic was dead to me. I had given him a chance and Sonic had used that chance shoot himself through the temple and fall with a splat right into his own coffin which was also on fire. But now, after the dust has settled and most of my memories of sheer aggravation are no longer at the forefront of my every thought, I have decided to give Sonic another chance. Sonic and the Black Knight – Just Keep Waggling

Sonic_and_the_Black_Knight_CoverAfter watching a few too many episodes of Game Grumps, I suddenly realised something that may irritate longstanding lovers of classic games out there. I’ve never played a Sonic game. Not a one. I’ve seen Let’s Plays of them, I know most the characters and know that damn catchy TV intro from Sonic X, but I’ve never played a Sonic game. The Unfinished Swan – The Complete Package

the-unfinished-swan-1I seem to be more and more inclined to turn away from the big games that have been released since the inception of the new consoles. I mean I jumped on Dragonball: Xenoverse as if it were a disgraceful youth putting a dying animal out of its misery with my size eight feet and I’m incredibly stoked for Star Wars: Battlefront, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Fallout 4 and a whole host of games that have fallen prey to the recent trend of colon-isation and sequelisation.
